Many of the kids come from a difficult home life, so, students are encouraged to work as hard as they can while at school. Homework does not go home with the children because most often "we know it is not going to get done," said Madison Tracy, the schools principal. The Jubilee Schools now operate on a $30 million endowment, serving more than 1,400 mostly non-Catholic and poor students at eight schools (fundraising allowed the addition of two more). Unlike most private, faith- based schools, these schools would accept any students, regardless of test scores, previous academic or behavior records, or a family's ability to pay. Theta Omicron Foundation

The Foundation

The Theta Omicron Foundation was incorporated in the state of North Carolina on September 9, 2016. The formation of the Theta Omicron Foundation is the result of a unanimous decision by brothers in attendance at the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Theta Omicron Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During the business session of the April 8 – 10, 2016 celebration, a committee of brothers was charged with the task of creating an organization to assist the aims and purposes of colleges and universities in recruiting, retaining, and graduating young people, with special emphasis on male students of color. The Foundation is recognized as an exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code.
